It has been almost a year since I was first forced to work for Kanryuu. His new bodyguards were different than the typical goons. They hid in the shadows instead of brazenly displaying their 'power' like so many others. It hardly affected my duties. As long as I met my Opium quota I was left alone for the most part.
At least I was until Kanryuu's new men were the Oniwabanshu.
Han'nya was the one guarding me. I didn't mind, he was a silent shadow, though his mask was rather scary. I knew there were passages hidden throughout the mansion that I had yet to discover and that Kanryuu didn't know about either. He was too busy with his greed counting his money.
I'm not sure why I trust him, but when he told me to follow I did. My hand was resting upon his shoulder as he led me down the winding stairs from my upper tower prison. It wasn't until he opened the door that I realized where we were going.
Sitting at a desk lit by a small lamp sat 'Leader' pouring over documentations.
"Leader," Han'nya called. "Meet Megumi Takani, Kanryuu's unfortunate captive and our charge to prevent from escape."
Well, I suppose I have been given worse introductions.
